We are about gritty, creative, visceral, inspiring, poignant films. The International Adventure Film Selection Committee is currently in the process of scoring and selecting films for 2009. Short films as well as feature productions play crucial roles throughout the Adventure Film Festival's year of events. We look for films from all aspects of Adventure, from conservation oriented documentaries, to extreme sports and exploratory productions, to urban and social perspectives. Adventure Film also host's a family and kids adventure series, so films that are better suited to a younger audience are also needed.

Finalists are first screened and awarded at Boulder Adventure Film's kick off fest. Shows, workshops, after parties and awards take place the first week in November in Boulder, Colorado's best venues, like the historic Boulder Theater and the B-side Lounge. And from there Adventure Film hits the road and travels as far as South America and Europe.

Opportunities will exist for the filmmakers to sell their films digitally as well as in hard copy format through Adventure Film.org. Finalists will receive VIP passes to the Film Festival and an in-town package. Over $20,000 in prizes are awarded for the best films.

Standard Submission Deadline is May 15th. Extended Deadline is July 15th.
