Boulder,
Colorado is the hometown of this gritty, raw film festival dedicated to
the beating heart of adventure. Boulder, because of its people, is the
perfect place for Adventure Film to have been born and to live. It is a
true community undertaking run by adventurers, filmmakers and artists
wishing to spread the creativity, enthusiasm, and activism inherent to
outdoor adventure.
Why Come to Boulder? This
town, nestled in the foothills of the Rockies, has all the amenities
and cultural outlets of cities 10 times its size, while at the same time
offering an incredible array of outdoor destinations. One can rock
climb the hallmark Flatirons in the morning and venture into town for a
film premier in the afternoon.
The really, truly Great Outdoors within 45min of Boulder: Rocky
Mountain National Park, Eldora Ski Area, Eldorado Canyon, Boulder
Canyon, over ten world-class, mountain biking trail-systems, Indian
Peaks Wilderness Area & Over 30 thousand acres of local mountain
parks.
And
for the urban experience, Boulder has 4 local museums, 32 movie and
stage theaters, 30 arts galleries, and 300 restaurants ranging from
casual to fine dining, with specialties from all over the world. Town is
30 minutes from Denver and the Intl Airport.
We
hope you'll come for an extended stay during the Boulder festival! If
you plan on visiting town for this event, be sure to look around early
for lodging. This year, there is also a large sporting event at the
University of Colorado, and we suggest looking for lodging through one
of the many hotels in town, or checking out Vacation Rentals by Owner
(VRBO.com).
